According to IAPP, a review of almost two hundreds websites (of online shops, municipalities and media) by the Dutch data protection authority found that about half that use cookies were incorrectly requesting permissions. The authority sent letters to website operators requesting necessary changes and will investigate whether cookies were used lawfully.
