TikTok update to Indian Government on data collection policies for children and more

Responding to the 21 questions sent by the Government of India (MeitY) to TikTok/Bytedance, the company has responded confirming its intermediary status, process of data collection and storage. The company also clarified the steps taken to protect children which include setting a minimum entry age on the platform to 13 years; plans to make changes as per the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) observations, such as segregating users based on age, and updates on the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) investigation.
