US senator Bernie Sanders, who will be running for the US presidential elections in 2020, has called for a ban on the use of facial recognition technology by the police. Part of a broader criminal justice reform plan, the measure -to be implemented if Sanders is elected president -is intended to contribute to 'ensuring law enforcement accountability and robust oversight'.
