Google has completed the installation of a 10 ,000km subsea fibre link that connects Los Angeles to Chile. The four-fibre pair system which is named Curie after the renowned physicist and chemist Marie Curie has a branching unit to support future connectivity to Panama. This historic cable landing was highlighted by Chile's transport and telecommunications minister who welcomed the opportunities for their citizens through increased access.
