Different articles highlight the findings of the  Study: Gender Bias in Open Source: Pull Request Acceptance of Women Versus Men using data from Github.  A New Study Suggests That Women Write Better Code Than Men summarises the findings, pointing out that the 'the study found a clear gender bias, as women's acceptance rates drop down to 62.5% when their gender is identifiable'. It concludes that although women on Github are shown to be more competent, they face a bias about their work.
