Have internationalised domain names increased multilingualism in cyberspace?

This article explores whether internationalised domain names (IDNs) have managed to increase multilingualism in cyberspace, as only 2% of the 300 million domain names in the world are in non-Roman characters. It suggests that althought IDNs have the potential to do increase multilingualims, many browsers, email servers and mobile devices are not ready to handle their character complexities.
