Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube to cooperate on removing extremist content

During the EU Internet Forum, Internet companies Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube have announced to create a common database to identify potential terrorist content, and curb its dissemination on multiple platforms. Through the use of 'hashes' -unique digital fingerprints assigned to terrorist content -the companies can more easily detect terrorist content, review the material, and remove the matching content as appropriate.
