The Future of Collaboration is Here: Cisco CCNP Collaboration Updates
Publish Time: 05 Nov, 2025

Collaboration professionals, current and aspiring, take note: February 3, 2026, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your certification journey. Cisco is evolving its Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration track to meet the reality of how we work today: in on-premises only environments, in cloud environments, and in hybrid environments that blend cloud innovation with on-premises infrastructure.

Let's break down what's changing, why it matters, and how these certification updates can accelerate your career in the collaboration space.

Why are we updating Cisco Collaboration Certifications now?

Here's the reality: the way we collaborate has fundamentally changed.

The numbers tell the story:

  • 650 million monthly meeting participants use Webex Suite in 8 billion calls.
  • Webex Calling users skyrocketed to 18 million in October 2025.
  • Ninety percent of enterprises are predicted to migrate to hybrid cloud by 2027.

Your organization might be all-in on cloud, maintaining on-premises systems, or-most likely-navigating a hybrid environment. Until now, the CCNP certifications haven't given you the flexibility to specialize in the approach most relevant to your day-to-day work.

That's changing.

What's new in the CCNP Collaboration track?

Starting February 3, 2026, Cisco is introducing a 50/50 split between cloud and on-premises collaboration content, giving you a real choice in how you specialize.

Updated core and concentration exams

Three existing CCNP Collaboration exams are getting v2.0 updates:

  • 350-801 CLCOR: Implementing Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies
  • 300-815 CLACC: Implementing Cisco Advanced Call Control On-Premises
  • 300-820 CLHCT: Implementing Cisco Collaboration Hybrid and Cloud Technologies

Important dates:

  • Last day to test on v1.2 topics: February 2, 2026
  • First day to test on v2.0 topics: February 3, 2026

Plus: A brand-new collaboration specialist certification

Meet the 300-830 CLCCE: Implementing Cisco Collaboration Cloud Customer Experience exam.

This new specialist certification addresses one of the fastest-growing areas in collaboration: Webex Contact Center. Contact Center seats surged 75 percent in FY24. With 95 percent of customers giving it a positive rating, the solution is only increasing in popularity. This certification equips you with the skills employers actively seek.

What you'll showcase:

  • Expertise in Webex Contact Center technologies
  • Cloud-based customer experience solutions
  • Skills that are immediately applicable to real-world scenarios

What's retiring?

Two concentration exams are being sunset on February 2, 2026:

  • 300-835 CLAUTO: Automating and Programming Cisco Collaboration Solutions
  • 300-810 CLICA: Implementing Cisco Collaboration Applications

If you're currently pursuing either of these, make sure to complete your exam before the deadline.

How do these changes benefit your career?

Specialize in what matters to you

Whether you're a:

  • Cloud-focused engineer building the future of collaboration
  • On-premises expert ensuring secure, reliable systems for regulated industries
  • Hybrid environment architect balancing both worlds
  • Contact center professional managing customer experience platforms

You now have certification paths that align with your specific role and career goals.

Stand out with skills-based training

Theory is important, but employers want to see what you can do. The new certifications emphasize hands-on skills with technologies like:

  • Webex Contact Center
  • Webex Calling (deployed in 65+ countries)
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Hybrid cloud collaboration solutions

Meet market demand

Consider these insights from Cisco's market research:

  • Ninety-five percent of Fortune 500 companies use Cisco video endpoints
  • Cisco holds the #1 global revenue share (26.2 percent) in room video endpoints
  • The company maintains a 40.6 percent share of the on-premises PBX market
  • 80 percent of surveyed enterprises are excited about AI-driven collaboration tools

By earning these updated certifications, you're positioning yourself at the intersection of where the market has been and where it's going.

What if you work in a regulated industry?

Great news: Cisco isn't abandoning on-premises collaboration.

Many organizations-especially in government, healthcare, and financial services-still require on-premises solutions for security, compliance, and data sovereignty reasons. The updated certifications ensure you can:

  • Demonstrate deep expertise in on-premises environments
  • Support current and future on-premises collaboration technologies
  • Maintain the security and efficiency your organization depends on

How do Cisco's certifications compare to competitors?

Here's what makes Cisco's approach unique:

Competitors often offer cloud-only training. Cisco gives you both cloud and on-premises options, reflecting real-world IT environments.

Cisco leads in key market segments:

  • 26.2 percent revenue share in room video endpoints (more than twice the share of its nearest competitor)
  • 40.6 percent share of the on-premises PBX market
  • Strong presence in regulated verticals requiring specialized expertise

Recognition that matters:

  • Named a 2025 Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice for UCaaS, CCaaS, and Meeting Solutions
  • Webex Contact Center earned a 4.5/5 rating
  • Forrester TEI study showed a 204 percent ROI within a six-month payback period

What should you do next to earn your CCNP Collaboration certification?

If you're currently studying for the exam

Check your exam version and timeline:

  • Completing a concentration exam before February 3, 2026? Make sure you're studying v1.2 topics.
  • Planning to test after February 3? Download the updated v2.0 exam topics.
  • Considering the retiring exams? You have until February 2, 2026.

If you're still planning your certification path

Consider these questions:

  • Does your organization primarily use cloud, on-premises, or a hybrid approach to collaboration?
  • Are you working with (or interested in) Webex Contact Center?
  • What specialization aligns with your career goals?
