Key takeaways

  • Spotify Wrapped has a new Party feature.
  • You can compare stats live with friends and earn awards.
  • Every Wrapped Party will be different depending on the guests.

Spotify Wrapped is here, and if your favorite part is sharing your results with friends, the annual roundup of your year in music has a new feature you might be interested in -- an interactive, live group session called Wrapped Party.

Like traditional Wrapped, Party gives you a deep dive into your listening stats, including what artists you listen to and how much playtime they get. It takes things a step further, though, and lets you compare stats in a live show of sorts with up to nine friends and earn unique awards among your friend group.

How a Spotify Wrapped Party works

You can either host a party or join a friend's party. You can host or join multiple parties, but you can only be in one at a time. Everyone in the party will need to be logged in at the same time to participate.

If you're joining a party, just tap the link. If you want to set one up, search for "Wrapped Party" in the Spotify app or find it at the end of your personalized Wrapped.

If you're a host, you'll pick the party name and profile image (updates made to your party profile image are also reflected on your Spotify account) and then share the unique link with your friends. You'll also decide when the party starts and keep things moving. If you want, you can pass hosting duties to someone else.

Once a party starts, you'll be able to compare stats to see who streamed the most minutes, who had the rarest listen, who discovered the most new artists this year, and see who you're most (or least) musically compatible with.

Your party guests can earn awards that celebrate their uniqueness, like "most obsessed," "rarest listen," "most minutes," "picky listener," and "dinner table explainer," or the person who listens to the most news podcasts.

When the party is over, you can share the results on social media.

These awards change depending on who is in the party, Spotify said, so no two parties will be the same.
