IT teams today are often overwhelmed by repetitive routine tasks that are both time-intensive and susceptible to errors. Network operations are increasingly complex and fragmented, even more so if your network has multiple controllers. This complexity leads to wasted time, operational inefficiencies, and challenges in scaling. In a world where speed and precision define success, traditional automation tools often fall short, lacking the intelligence and flexibility to proactively automate across multidomain environments. On top of this, many network operators don't have the time or desire to learn the special syntax of automation tools like Python or Ansible.
Enter Cisco Agentic Workflows, our free-to-use automation tool integrated in the Meraki dashboard. To use Workflows, you do not need to be a current Meraki customer. Even if you don't have any Meraki devices or licenses, Cisco customers can create a Meraki account and access Workflows to begin automating other Cisco domains like Catalyst Center, Catalyst SD-WAN, or ISE. Workflows can help address the challenges of NetOps complexity by providing AI-driven, simple low/no-code automation that enables IT teams to free themselves from routine tasks, reduce manual errors, and accelerate network management with predictable, repeatable outcomes.
Let's take a closer look at how Agentic Workflows delivers value.
Hit the ground running with Workflows
Agentic Workflows is easily accessible in the "Automation" tab of your Meraki dashboard. You must be a full organization administrator to use Workflows, but more granular, role-based access control is coming soon.

The Workflows Exchange contains premade automations that have been released or approved by Cisco engineers and content providers and designed to solve common use cases. These automations can be run as is or easily customized in the drag-and-drop workflow editor.
Figure 2: Workflows ExchangeThe Workflows Editor is a visual, simple, drag-and-drop interface, which makes creating or editing workflows easy, even if you don't have any coding experience. You can use a mix of prebuilt activities (that correspond to API calls), logic activities, and even other workflows. There's also support for Cisco integrations, third-party tools, and AI-driven features.
Figure 3: Workflows EditorNot only can you run your automations manually in the dashboard, you can also trigger them using webhooks, a schedule, or the Cisco AI Assistant. This is where things get even more exciting: Instead of asking the AI Assistant for help, you can ask it for an outcome. The assistant will recommend an appropriate workflow and summarize the steps. Together, they deliver deterministic network automation, ensuring predictable and repeatable outcomes every time.
With Agentic Workflows and the Cisco AI Assistant, this is the future of network operations: shifting from searching for answers to simply asking for outcomes.

With Agentic Workflows, you can embed powerful AI reasoning into any automation. Send data and custom prompts to an AI system and unlock intelligent automation such as:
- Data parsing and transformation: Extract, convert, and organize data seamlessly.
- Summarization and analysis: Instantly generate insights and actionable recommendations.
- Adaptive actions: Let AI decide and execute next steps-a foundational step toward AgenticOps.
