Key takeaways
- Apple could unveil a slew of higher-end "Ultra" products this year.
- A foldable iPhone, next-gen AirPods, and a touch-screen MacBook may be next.
- Apple is looking to appeal to both lower-end and higher-end markets.
Last week, Apple announced a bevy of new products, most notably the budget-friendly MacBook Neo. But as Steve Jobs used to say: "There's one more thing." In this case, though, we could be getting several more things, and many of them are aimed at the higher-end market.

In his latest Power On Newsletter (subscription required), Bloomberg's Mark Gurman teased a host of new products that Apple will reportedly unveil throughout the year. With the MacBook Neo filling the lower end, the company will apparently focus on more pricey and powerful products as it aims to appeal to a range of customers and markets.
Foldable iPhone
Gurman dubs this higher-end category "ultra," a moniker already assigned to such existing tech as the Apple Watch Ultra, CarPlay Ultra, and M-series Ultra chips. Whether or not the expected new products adopt the same label, they'll likely fall into the same category.

Top on his list is the foldable iPhone, considered an "Ultra" product, as it will likely outshine the rest of the lineup, according to Gurman. Priced at around $2,000, Apple's first foldable phone would offer both outer and inner displays and be equipped with newer features like in-display touch-screen sensors.
Reports have suggested that the phone's outer display would measure 5.5 inches, smaller than the iPhone 16's 6.1-inch screen. But unfold the phone, and you'll be greeted with a 7.8-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Think of it as a device that's a phone when folded and becomes an iPad when unfolded.
Next-generation AirPods
Next up are the next-generation AirPods. Though Apple released new versions of the AirPods and AirPods Pro in 2025, the ones anticipated for 2026 will come with computer-vision cameras able to provide visual intelligence data to Siri, Gurman said.
This jibes with a 2024 report from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that Apple would mass-produce new AirPods with camera modules by 2026, citing intel from supply chain sources. This next-gen model would almost certainly be priced higher than the current AirPods Pro 3, which retails for $249.
Touchscreen MacBook
Also on the list is something a lot of Apple users have been craving -- a touchscreen MacBook. Here, a higher-end MacBook Pro could be outfitted with a touch-enabled OLED display. But expect to pay for the privilege.

The transition from LED to OLED already bumped up the price tags on the iPhone and iPad, so Gurman is eyeing a similar increase for a MacBook with the same screen tech. In fact, a touch-screen MacBook Pro could be priced higher than the latest M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models.
Refreshed Mac Studio
Next up is a refreshed Mac Studio desktop, expected to be released during the first half of 2026. The current model offers a choice between the M4 Max and the M3 Ultra chip. The new version would bump up the specs to an M5 Max or an M4 or M5 Ultra.
In his Feb. 22 newsletter, Gurman also was looking for a new Apple Studio Display. That prediction came true as Apple announced a new version of its high-end monitor last week. You can now pre-order one of two editions -- the regular Studio Display starting at $1,599 or the Studio Display XDR starting at $3,299.
Other Ultra devices
Beyond anticipating these core products, Gurman also believes the iPad and iMac might eventually venture into this Ultra or super premium niche. A foldable OLED iPad would certainly qualify, while Apple has been testing the waters with iMacs sporting larger displays and more powerful processors.

Of course, we can also expect the usual Apple event in September with the debut of a new iPhone, a new Apple Watch, and other new products. But assuming all of Gurman's forecasts prove true, this marks an ongoing shift for the company's release schedule. In the past, Apple focused mostly on one or two major product events per year.
Now, it seems intent on a more measured approach, announcing new products a few at a time throughout the year.
